No.10 Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend

Selected by Brian Amey – Head of Design

Why do you like it? What does it mean to you?

Conan O’Brien is one of the funniest men on the planet and his new podcast is a great escape from the reality of 2020 – witty, insightful, inappropriate and hilarious.

What are your favourite aspects of the book?

The chemistry between the guests and Conan. The whole premise of the podcast was that Conan was on the talk show circuit for 25 years but never actually made any real friends, so this podcast is all about him chatting with people he wants to be friends with … and he’s got pretty good taste.

How did it help you get through lockdown?

Whether you're stuck at home working all day, socially distanced queueing at the supermarket or trying to escape for a walk – the pandemic is everywhere. Listening to the podcast is my small bit of escapism that helps keep me sane.

In one sentence, why is it your lockdown love?

Laugh away the depression.
