The challenge

Premier Inn, the UK’s biggest hotel chain, needed an imaginative new comms channel. In a 2015 IC audit, 68% of employees wanted a digital connection with the leadership team and 75% wanted tools to connect and share knowledge and experiences with colleagues. Premier Inn approached Headlines to create a publication app for its 19,000 team members.

What we did

Headlines pioneered a more innovative, strategic solution. We launched InTouch: a bespoke, one-stop, easy-to-use, cross-platform IC app. Content is shared instantly through push notifications. It powers two-way conversation through real-time polls and user-generated content.

The outcome

InTouch has created a significant change in Premier Inn’s IC. The app has been downloaded by employees thousands of times since its launch, and there were over 1,800 uploads by to the staff photo wall in the first few months. Comment boxes allow executives and those working in hotels to communicate directly on posts, removing barriers within the workforce. InTouch received an IOIC award and a Silver MKDA award.
