Content Writer / Journalist

Based: Hybrid working approach from home/office in Milton Keynes

Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.

 

About the job

Our small team of writers, designers and communications experts create content across print and digital channels for a wide variety of clients in our key specialisms of Internal Communications, Membership Publishing and Learning and Development.

We have a diverse set of clients, from big household brands such as Amazon and Shell, to membership organisations such as The National Association of Head Teachers and Spinal Injuries Association.

We’re looking for a creative journalist looking to take the next step in their career.

 

We’re looking for:

  • Excellent writing skills – across a range of creative content and copy, in print, digital and social media.

  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in a relevant role – journalism, publishing, internal communications.

  • Editorial support for senior team members 

  • Management of some client accounts

  • Researching and writing copy, working to client brief

  • Conducting interviews and sourcing material via phone, email and face-to-face

  • Ensuring consistent messaging and copy that fits with organisational aims

  • Preparing for and attending client meetings – leading them where appropriate

  • Progressing several jobs at one time, working to challenging schedules

  • Gaining copy approval and managing process

  • Planning and editing publications to meet agreed brief

  • Pro-actively building background knowledge of clients and keeping up-to-date with their business developments

  • Establishing strong working relationships with clients, keeping in regular contact

  • Seeking advice and guidance to offer clients best possible service 

  • Briefing photographers

  • Communicating and working closely with designers and account managers

  • Overseeing communications from start to finish

  • We are currently operating a hybrid working arrangement, with the team together in the office for three days per week.

 

This is a hybrid role – working Tuesday to Thursday in the office.
