Attention-grabbing ident video to attract new subscribers

Animation, design.

The challenge

The Oxford University Press (OUP) wanted to promote its online journal called ‘Synthetic Biology’ on Facebook but needed a short ident to encourage visitors to click and learn more about the journal.

What we did

The client already had the logo for the journal, so we came up with creative treatments to animate the logo in an interesting way that grabs attention as well as providing information on the kind of content featured in the journal.

The outcome

Our chosen creative treatment featured the logo being built line-by-line as each of the benefits is displayed on screen next to the logo, before it deconstructs again and the words ‘Synthetic Biology’ fade back in.

This device of exploding the logo inward and then outward made the ident eye-catching and more likely to be noticed by those casually browsing the OUP pages on Facebook.
